The Role

Overview

Produce, program, and maintain tools, dies, and fixtures for engineering projects.

Tasks

-Construction, Assembly, and Repair of fixtures, dies and jaws. -Mark up drawings for “as built” conditions for Engineering updates. -Die maintenance as required (repair, sharpening & cleaning) & record repairs. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. -Assist Engineering, Production, and Set-up personnel with tooling set-ups and new tooling process verification. -Work with Engineering and Maintenance for Hydraulic and Pneumatic requirements. -Manage new tooling projects through Tool Room to project deadlines. -Support Communications between Engineering and Production -Manufacture details to print, supporting engineering projects. -While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. -Consistently keep Tool Room clean, organized, and hazard free

What You Bring

-Prefer Journeyman Tool & Die maker or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years of tool room experience) -Must also pass a skills-based test. -CNC programming. -Ability to program CNC equipment, and safely operate standard Tool Room equipment. -Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. -Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. -Able to read and understand inspection tools. (Micrometers, calipers, comparator). -Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented. -Must be able to understand decimals, fractions, and tolerances. -HS Diploma/GED -Must pass a company background check and drug screen. -The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
