Senior Project Engineer

Overview

Assist in field operations and administration for construction projects.

Tasks

-Assists in project close-out activities -Works with the Safety Department to ensure that project safety records are accurately maintained -Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction -Ensures craft timecards are completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; verifies cost codes to all purchases, timecards, contracts, equipment time and any other item involving cost -Develops, implements and administers project engineering procedures and other work documents, tracks and logs documentation -Interprets specifications, designs and drawings and prepares quantity takeoffs -Maintains RFI logs -Maintains as-built drawings; posts RFI, bulletin and ASI as appropriate -May support estimates as needed -Assists in preparing project status reports and participates in project status meetings; assists in development of meeting minutes -Prepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc. -Maintains submittal logs and timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawings -Takes weekly jobsite photographs -Verifies work-in-place quantities for invoicing/pay quantities. -Assists in quality control activities -Participates in constructability reviews and value engineering functions -Demonstrates, communicates, and reinforces all Company safety policies and procedures. -Assists with pre-construction activities as needed: construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings

What You Bring

-E.I.T. preferred but not required -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -Has a clear understand specifications, drawings, standards, and subcontractor & supplier scope of work, etc. -Excellent computer skills -4-year civil engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience -Ability to travel as required -Ability to read and interpret plans -2-4 years of field construction experience -Basic understanding of cost analysis
