The Role

Overview

Manage inventory, orders, receiving, shipping, and cycle counts in a warehouse.

Tasks

-Receive material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses -Utilize both Radio Frequency (RF) hand-held devices and Warehouse Management System (WMS) dashboard screens to perform cycle counting, location maintenance, vendor returns, scrap, inventory processing, exception reports, and lost and found products -Use hands to finger, handle, or feel: Operates a computer and other office machinery - Constantly – at least 51% -Process paperwork regarding shipments including but not limited to verifying that the merchandise to be shipped is correct, applying the correct postage tape and label, following customer shipping instructions and, insuring the shipment when necessary -Complete all inventory control tasks accurately and in timely manner per business requirements -Communicate with vendor buyers about any issues, concerns, or needed corrections to item inventory or products -Monitor inventory levels to ensure we are maintaining a healthy inventory count -Report any damage to electronic hardware, material handling equipment and the Distribution Center immediately to a Supervisor -Research and reconcile any inventory discrepancies, receipt exceptions, shipping issues, customer returns, or damaged material -Prepare orders from the distribution center and ensure that the correct number and type of product is being shipped -Load common carrier and company vehicles as needed -Verify the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list -Assist with other branch/distribution center duties as needed

-Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and/or exposure to heat and cold - Constantly – at least 51% -Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet - Frequently – 21% to 50% -High School or GED - Preferred -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals -Walk: Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location - Constantly – at least 51% -Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines -Talk, hear, taste, smell: Must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions - Constantly – at least 51% -Climb or balance: Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment - Occasionally – up to 20% -Sit: Must be able to remain in a stationary position - Occasionally – up to 20% -Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and to be sensitive to their needs -Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred -Up to 25 pounds - Constantly – at least 51% -Must behave consistently with the Company's Core Competencies, Polices, Procedures, guidelines, and focus on safety -Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form -Travels to offsite locations - Occasionally – up to 20% -Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills -Up to 50 pounds - Frequently – 21% to 50% -Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment - Constantly – at least 51% -Excellent computer skills demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Excel), automated order entry systems, and other internet-based tools -1+ years of experience in inventory control or high-volume Warehouse or Distribution Center preferred -Up to 10 pounds - Constantly – at least 51%
