The Role

Overview

Entry-level engineer conducting water resource field work, modeling, and regulatory reporting.

Tasks

-Maintaining monitoring equipment; -Conducting dry and wet weather sampling; -Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. -Performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations/modeling; -Reviewing state and federal regulations & permits pertaining to surface water; -Preparing watershed based plans; -Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals. -Designing stormwater best management practices; -Analyzing data, including reviewing historical documents and preparing maps, tables, and figures and -Managing, evaluating, and summarizing monitoring data; -Conducting Construction Quality Assurance; -Performing surface water field investigations; -Evaluating sediment, surface water, porewater, groundwater, and soil technologies and remedies, performing cost estimations, drafting design calculations, and planning for remedy implementation

What You Bring

-Ability to collect samples from potentially uneven terrain or from a boat. (required) -Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred) -Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) -Registered Engineer-in-Training, or ability to take exam within 6 months. (preferred but not essential) -At least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred) -Regular field work and overnight travel. (required) -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (required) -Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred) -Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, or a related field of study. (required) -Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM, HydroCAD). (preferred) -Technical experience in engineering, geology, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines. (preferred) -Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and/or AutoCAD. (preferred) -Advanced degree in the same. (preferred but not essential)

Benefits

-Minimum Salary: $70,625/year / Maximum Salary: $88,280/year (Hamilton, Acton, MA)
