Design & manage integrated physical & cyber security for a UAE railway project.

Tasks

-Work closely with engineering, operations, IT, and safety teams to integrate security solutions into railway infrastructure projects. -Implement cybersecurity best practices to protect railway IT and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure from cyber threats. -Develop and implement incident response plans for physical and cyber security breaches. -Ensure compliance with international cybersecurity standards (NIST, ISO 27001, IEC 62443) and UAE-specific data protection regulations. -Train and collaborate with operations and security teams on emergency response procedures, ensuring swift and coordinated actions during crises. -Provide technical expertise on security-related design considerations, ensuring safe passenger and asset movement within railway stations and facilities. -Monitor and analyze emerging security threats to continuously improve security posture. -Ensure all security systems and protocols comply with UAE security laws, railway safety regulations, and international security guidelines. -Coordinate with government security agencies, police, and transport authorities to align security measures with national security policies. -Conduct security risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis to identify potential risks to railway operations. -Lead forensic investigations, root cause analysis, and recovery strategies following security incidents. -Ensure the seamless integration of physical security measures with operational control systems (OCS) and SCADA networks for real-time monitoring. -Develop and oversee the implementation of integrated security systems across railway stations, depots, tunnels, and operational control centers. -Work closely with IT and network teams to develop and enforce firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and encryption mechanisms for railway communications. -Develop security reports, technical documentation, and risk analysis studies to support project decision-making. -Develop contingency plans, emergency response protocols, and mitigation strategies to address physical and cyber threats. -Design and optimize CCTV surveillance networks, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and perimeter security solutions. -Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving rail security regulations, cybersecurity frameworks, and global transportation security trend.

What You Bring

-Hands-on experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, firewall management, and penetration testing. -Familiarity with UAE security regulations, international security standards (ISO 27001, NIST, IEC 62443), and railway safety protocols. -Strong understanding of the delivery process and construction management functions for large-scale projects. -Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents, and responding to sensitive inquiries or complaints. -Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the project team, clients, and other stakeholders. -Excellent oral and written communication skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and correspondence. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing complex challenges and developing effective solutions. -Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment by developing collaborative relationships. -Proactive mindset, staying ahead of emerging threats and challenges in the transportation sector. -Experience in security risk assessment, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis for large-scale transportation systems. -Knowledge of SCADA security, Operational Technology (OT) security, and cloud-based security solutions is highly desirable. -Bachelor’s degree in Security Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. -15+ years of experience in security engineering, cybersecurity, or risk management for railways or metros projects. -Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, capable of working with government agencies, metro authorities, consultants, and security agencies. -Strong background in cybersecurity principles, network security, and industrial control system (ICS) protection. -Expertise in designing and managing integrated security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection. -A Master’s degree in Security Systems, Cybersecurity, or Critical Infrastructure Protection is a plus.
