Tasks

-Escalate issues that threaten portfolio and project success -Contribute to the establishment of common practices, tools, and templates for portfolio and project management, and ensure adherence to company and legal standards -Responsible for the planning and on boarding of projects and small programs -Strategic thinking: Provides governance & oversight of projects/small programs to ensure project goals or objectives are accomplished within approved time frame, scope and budget -Analyze key performance indicators to produce reports on portfolio and projects -Develop and implement project management methodologies and best practices to build on the team’s skills and abilities -Champions strong IT governance in the project management framework and mentors project managers in its development and continuous improvement -Develop and maintain strong relationships with Internal/external partners and sponsors ensuring key stakeholders are identified and engaged early in the project life cycle -Management through metrics: Use metrics and data visualization effectively to report portfolio performance and support decision-making at the team or organizational level -Responsible for maximizing resource allocation based on resource availability and prioritized projects -Works closely with the project and program management Centers of Excellence -Facilitate project reviews and checkpoint meetings -Manage day-to-day portfolio activities and establish working plan for each project phase -Provides guidance to Project Managers -Maintains and communicates overall portfolio financials -Oversees the management of project closure initiatives

What You Bring

-Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to establish strong relationships with all levels of an organization -Great Communication skills. -Knowledge and experience in agile software development process -Preferable: Rail Domain Experience -Ability to translate business strategy into tactical plans and willingness to own execution to completion -Program Management skills including ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, deliver results -Strong self-starter with entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment -Highly flexible, ability to execute well in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization -Analytical and problem-solving skills -Comfort with deep technical details as well as high-level business goals and customer needs -Experience of dealing with teams in different geographies with interdependencies. -10+ years of experience is required.
