The Role

Tasks

Mid to senior-level engineering position focusing on the performance of both routine and complex activities and tasks related to the design of overhead and underground distribution systems. -Assists other senior level professionals with development of proposals, project coordination, meeting minutes, preparing Task Orders for subcontractors, technical and commercial write-ups, etc. -Performs records research, submits One Call System (POCS) design tickets for underground maps and National Joint Utilities Notification System (NJUNS) tickets, and obtains right-of-way/easement maps, as-builts and other utility information. -Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and environmental engineers. -Prepares designs for Licensed Professional Engineers to endorse (sign and/or seal) prior to client submissions. -Performs site visits, data collection, detailed field inspection, topographic surveys, utility pole inspections, building investigations, manhole inspections, document field notes and other data required to develop design drawings. -Under Project Manager’s/Professional Engineer’s supervision, develops conceptual plans, subsurface utility base maps, civil & electrical design drawings for proposed overhead and underground infrastructure, plan & profile drawings, utility pole diagrams, cable pull plans, permit drawings, construction drawings, details, specifications, as-builts/ record drawings, etc. -Prepares notes, instructions, permit applications, bid specifications, bill of materials, material requests, clearance requests, construction work order packages and other project related documents. -Participates in the planning, design, and execution of overhead and underground distribution systems for electric networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

What You Bring

-Effective communication with immediate supervisor and other project personnel. -7+ years of qualified industry experience (Transmission & Distribution experience preferred). -Accuracy and attention to detail as well as ability to meet deadlines and complete assignments. -Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. -Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. -Ability to complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and/or standards and meet project deadlines. -Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in civil, electrical or related engineering program. -Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, PLS-CADD and/or MicroStation platforms.
