Assist with construction surveying tasks, equipment handling, and layout under supervision.

Tasks

-Participate in daily Pre-Task Plans, follow safety expectations for operation of equipment and tools, select appropriate equipment for performing work, adhere to safety protocols to perform work, and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). -Move and adjust position of survey equipment. -Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees. -Measure distance between points using measuring tape or electronic equipment. -Maintain and clean surveying equipment including tracking of calibrations. -Inventory supplies and give supply orders to Survey Party Chief for re-stocking. -Hold measuring devices during construction layout activities. -Ensure security of equipment and work area while conducting operations. -Prepare surveying equipment for use. -Identify, communicate, and escalate problems and issues to supervisor for immediate resolution. -Assist with construction surveying activities under direction of Survey Party Chief. -Remove obstructions during construction layout activities. -Establish points by installing physical markers.

What You Bring

-Ability to take direction, work independently with minimal supervision, and in team environment -Ability to apply active listening skills, ask clarifying questions, and complete assignments as directed -Minimum of 6 months of construction surveying and building layout experience required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience -Reliable transportation required -Knowledge of and able to apply arithmetic , basic geometry , and trigonometry to work tasks -Familiar with CAD (Computer Aided Design) preferred -Possess basic knowledge and use of surveying equipment (e.g., builder’s level, lasers, laser levels, total stations, and robotic total stations) to complete work assignments -Moderate computer skills (e.g., smart phone, iPad) -Able to think critically and use g ood judgment to solve proble ms -Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills and engage with all levels of teams, clients, business partners, and management -Display high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations. -Ability to measure , read, and convey lengths with ruler or tape with high degree of accuracy -Ability to travel using various modes (e.g., automobile, train, air) and accommodate night and weekend work -Fully understand work instructions, project signage, and safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers and prepare and inspect tools prior use to ensure safe and working condition.
