Overview

Maintain and repair diesel, electrical & mechanical equipment, including welding.

Tasks

Under general supervision, performs very specific, skilled work. Maintains the plant’s mechanical, diesel, electrical, and electronic equipment. Welds to repair and fabricate components essential to production processes. Maintains and repairs structure, piping, fixtures, and equipment. Performs predictive and preventive maintenance. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required. -Follow OSHA and HAZMAT rules and regulations -Repairing Forklifts weighing 5,000lbs-80,000lbs -Takes proactive steps to make improvements to plant equipment and processes. -Participate in safety programs -working to repair and maintain air compressors, dryers, trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Assists with the installation of new equipment. -Maintain all job site equipment in a good, clean, orderly condition and report all deficiencies to the supervisor -Recommends improvements in maintenance methods, working to reduce the cost of replacement/repair whenever possible -Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and discuss with the Head Mechanic for approval and repair as needed -Maintains and cleans equipment, performs required inspections, completes paperwork, and assumes accountability -Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, -Follows standard safety procedures, corrects safety and environmental hazards, and reports them to supervision as necessary.

What You Bring

-Able to measure accurately with calipers, feeler gauges, and tape measures -Repaired Heavy Diesel Equipment -Valid driver's license and clean driving record -Ability to operate a welder, cutting torch, electrical/power, and manual hand tools for repairs. -Reads, understands, and applies information such as lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, pre-job briefings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. -Ability to perform arc welding and cutting torch experience -Must be capable of using protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes, hearing protection, air masks, respirators, etc. in the performance of job duties* * -Properly use tools like electrical meters, hydraulic gauges, and lifting equipment -Capable of lifting 50 pounds -Forklift Driving: 3 years (Preferred) -Welding: 3 years (Preferred) -Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and will be exposed to heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, confined spaces, elevated areas, and dirt -This position will require overtime during planned maintenance outages and during plant outages. -Communicates effectively -Service Tech: 3 years (Preferred) -Manufacturing environment: 3 years (Preferred) -Be able to work 40+hours per week -All employees are required to comply with the Substance Abuse policy, which includes but is not limited to a post-offer drug screen and physical examination* -Must be able to sit for extended periods -Must know how to safely work around and with heavy equipment/objects -Ability to read simple electrical/mechanical drawings -Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. occasionally* -Must be able to work on feet for extended periods* -Welding/fabrication experience -Be able to fix minor electrical problems -Understand basic electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics -Relevant: 3 years of industrial maintenance experience (Preferred)
