Process weekly Canadian payroll, manage reconciliations, filings, and employee inquiries.

Tasks

-Set up and remittance of support orders/garnishments on a weekly basis -Responding to inquiries, filing and faxes -Review payroll data to identify issues and opportunities for improvement -Review and remit monthly union dues -This job requires the person to work autonomously and take full responsibility for the assigned payrolls and issues that may arise, and all functions relating to the employees on the payrolls. -Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment -Preparation and review of quarterly payroll reconciliations -Review and verify payroll data for accuracy -May be required to work overtime during month end, quarter end and at year-end or due to other operational demands -Processing Canadian payrolls on a weekly basis -Prepare payroll-related filings and supporting documentation

What You Bring

-Completion of payroll program or equivalent -Lifting/handling computers and related equipment -People-oriented – enjoy dealing with people daily and assisting in solving their problems -Vision abilities, including close vision and adjusting focus -Minimum 1-year previous payroll experience is an asset -Capable of meeting deadlines and prioritizing workload -Strong analytical skills -Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written -Strong accounting knowledge -Moderate noise level -Above-average knowledge of Excel and Word -Accurate data entry
