Tasks
As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary design function responsible for developing precision-engineered systems used by major pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide. You’ll manage project delivery from concept through to manufacture, ensuring outputs meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance. This is a key leadership position overseeing the Mechanical Design Engineering team, driving excellence in project delivery, process improvement, and customer satisfaction across a range of GMP-compliant equipment solutions. -Champion design efficiency through standardisation, modularisation, and the effective use of CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks). -Support business growth by delivering customer-centric solutions and maintaining strong communication with key stakeholders. -Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration within the engineering function. -Work cross-functionally with Project Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to align technical deliverables with project goals. -Lead and develop a high-performing Mechanical Design team, ensuring project delivery meets scope, quality, budget, and schedule. -Drive continuous improvement across design workflows, documentation standards, and engineering processes.

What You Bring
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a background in mechanical design and project-based manufacturing who thrives on translating complex customer requirements into robust engineering outcomes. -Strong understanding of GMP design principles and experience working within pharma, life sciences, or high-spec manufacturing environments. -Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. -10+ years’ experience in mechanical design, preferably in a project-based manufacturing or equipment design environment. -Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidEdge, SolidWorks) and engineering documentation. -Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills. -Proven leadership and team management experience, with a track record of delivering complex technical projects.
