The Role
Overview
Support design and analysis for global transmission line projects, including HVDC and 765kV.

Tasks
-Support large, extensive 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including trending technologies like HVDC and 765kV. -Performs research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection -Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work -Support global transmission projects performing design engineering and analysis of transmission line work. -Develop recommendations for equipment and materials. Understand and work successfully within budget, project schedule, and quality requirements. -May assist with providing guidance to engineering team members. Maintain positive client relations understanding client interests and drivers through effective communication with the project team. May assist with business development activities. -Focuses on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers -Seeks out supervisor or project leadership to share information and gain guidance with respect to details of design and interdisciplinary coordination -May provide support to business development or pursuit activities -Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts -Collect and assimilate data for engineering work. Perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with Black & Veatch and industry standards. -Continues developing knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks -Prepares engineering calculations following standard methods and principles -Prepares and verifies less complex engineering deliverables

What You Bring
-Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing -Minimum of 1 year related work experience -Continues to learn and remains current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures -Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements -Solid experience using EXCEL or similar spreadsheets and MathCAD design templates -Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline -All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. -Experience with the utility-scale projects -Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, LPile, MFAD, Sag10 or Ultralite -Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes -Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software
