Fire Testing Lead Technician

Overview

Lead technician testing fire & life safety systems on-site per NFPA standards.

Tasks

-Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 20+ pounds, daily -Ensure all inspections, testing, and maintenance are performed strictly in accordance with national standards, primarily NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code), as well as local codes and jurisdictional requirements. -Direct, instruct, and mentor technicians on proper work methods, safety protocols, and NFPA standards. -Test fire doors, fire pumps, and perform elevator recall. -Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily -Test the smoke detectors, heat detectors, duct detectors, water flow switches, pull stations, horn/strobes, horns, bells , sirens, and back up power of commercial buildings.

What You Bring

-Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance. -Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily. -Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations. -3+ years’ experience in fire life safety testing -Hours will vary, must be able to work on-call, weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed). -Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily. -Los Angeles Chief’s Regulation 4 Certificate of Fitness (in one or more categories) -Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally -High school diploma (or equivalent) -Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
