Tasks

Overall Responsibility: The Sr. Electrical Engineer/Designer shall be engaged in projects involving, but not limited to, the design of facility related electrical distribution systems, interior and exterior lighting, and emergency backup systems. They will participate in project teams to undertake the design and delivery of services related to design and construction of electrical systems, as well as the overall project. This position shall be responsible to Electrical Practice Lead. -Follows up on issues with design and production staff to resolve problems and concerns. -Lends support to all business areas outside of electrical focus as needed. -Supports applicable requests as needed. -Ensures coordinated design on projects. -Performs engineering studies. -Participates and ensures the quality of the work produced maintains high standards. -Participates in the monitoring of project production and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. -Attends and contributes to office, client and project meetings. -Participates in internal project meetings on a regular basis, including being responsible for minutes. -Participates in the design development of electrical work. -Creates and reviews drawings, technical specifications. -Functions as Senior Project Engineer/Designer on assignments with electrical design scope and other disciplines. -Performs technical and coordination check-review of project documentation and drawings. -Participates in the development of design drawings. -Contributes to estimation of projects, planning and construction feasibility.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. EIT/PE Preferred. Six (6) to Twelve (12) years’ experience in a technical capacity reflecting increasing responsibility. -Good leadership skills. -Ability to pass pre-hire drug testing and background check(s). -Ability to meet worksite security requirements including criminal background checks and DHS threat assessment evaluations. -Understanding of underlying principles of A/E industry. -Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record. -Valid state driver’s license (any in US). -Good communications and negotiations skills. -Ability to multi-task. -Proven record of leadership responsibility and expertise, including decision making, flexibility, problem-solving, reasoning, strategic thinking, and accountability. -In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US. -Able to provide advisory information during the construction phase. -Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors. -Excellent written and spoken English. -Ability to prioritize tasks. -Able to perform site surveys and contributes to engineering studies. -Basic understanding of multi-discipline systems and installation including MEP, fire protection and fire alarms, and low voltage/communications/data work. -Working experience and/or ability to learn and become capable in applying codes specific to area of expertise. -Ability to meet deadlines. -Working experience with software: Revit and AutoCAD, Visual, GenSize and SKM Power Tools.
