The Role
Overview
Design and manage structural infrastructure projects for transit/rail in NYC area.

Tasks
-Perform construction phase services on behalf of the Designer of Record. -Client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meetings, review comments etc. -Mentor and monitor work by Structural Designers. -Help resolve complex technical problems and exercise independent decision making. -Perform calculations independently using relevant bridge analysis and design software. -Support pursuit teams for large APD opportunities within the New York City Metropolitan area. -Assist the Design Manager with coordinating multidisciplinary teams from design development through construction services on projects using Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build methods. -Work with the Design Manager to review design deliverables for multidisciplinary coordination based on client standards and requirements. -Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations on various pursuits, including large Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build pursuits within the New York City Metropolitan area. -Develop project design deliverables including design criteria, contract design documents, design specifications, quantities and related calculations for various design projects under Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build environments.

-Ability to join Stantec committees, employee resource groups, participate in community volunteering, and join various company or local groups/initiatives. -Experience with agencies such as MTA, PANYNJ, NJ Transit, Amtrak or other public agencies is desired. -Proficiency in software such as STAAD, SAP, RISA, PCA Structure Point Suite, and similar. -Strong oral and written communication skills. -Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. -Ability to work alongside others who share your passion to improve communities through exciting and unique projects. -Minimum 7 years of experience in structural design. Position will primarily work in an office setting.
