CAD Drafter

Overview

Detail rebar projects using CAD, coordinate deliveries, ensure safety, support downstream teams.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Review all document changes, generate change orders, and manage change order approvals. -May be asked to complete approximately two hours of assessments as part of the hiring process. -Review and understand drawings, dates, specifications, addenda, and other contractual information. -Pre-plan all projects for critical path, scope, and schedules. -Create rebar shop drawings and coordinate deliveries of all contracted materials. -Represent Nucor Rebar Fabrication & liaise between sales, estimating, placer, contractor, fabrication team, and all design disciplines. -Engage when design/construction conflicts arise and provide timely, cost-effective resolutions.

What You Bring

-Construction knowledge – concrete related experience particularly helpful. -Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. -We are looking for candidates who are committed to a drug-free environment. -Working conditions include walking/sitting/standing/bending and moderate noise level. -Physical demands require use of hands, vision & light lifting related to computer equipment. -One year experience as a rebar detailer using CAD and Windows based software. -Effective in verbal and written communication. -Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from accredited school or currently enrolled. -Build on basic knowledge of rebar & concrete reinforcing products. -Ability to read technical drawings. -Understand and use of industry standards such as CRSI & ACI.
