Tasks

-Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. -Identifying all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges. -Identifying and participating in new initiatives that add value that lead to service improvement e.g. BIM. -Develops effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. -Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. -Measures and provides valuations of the work carried out and adjust variations in accordance with the terms of the contract and agree with the contractor. -You will be a leading advocate of Mace's value of Safety First, and be accountable for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards. -Advises on administration of the terms of construction works or services contracts. -You will be prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses to achieve formal execution by appropriate parties. -Manages a team of professional roles (may include support roles), driving performance and results, whilst delivering performance management, technical development and coaching. -Ensures adequate cost control and reporting services during the contract. -Advises on the issue of certificates of practical completion and ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. -You will champion a diverse and inclusive working environment, and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage. -Prepares contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses and assist formal execution by the appropriate parties. -Developing experience of managing relationships with key stakeholders. -You will manage operations that are fiscally and ethically viable, and in accordance with the terms contracts agreed with contractors. -Manages stakeholders. -Prepares financial reports for the client in the form and at the frequency required. -Delivers improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change. -You will develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and seek opportunities to implement improved working practices. -Participates in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers. -Advises on issue of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with any requirements relating to completion, submissions and approvals. -You will work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. -You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values. -Identifying and generating business development opportunities with existing clients. -You will manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives. -You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub. -Managing and developing Graduate Trainees and/or Assistant Cost Consultants. -You will prepare costing associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges, and present these to clients.

What You Bring

-Proven experience in commercial management. -Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. -Understanding of present-day issues such as Sustainability, Social Value and Carbon Reduction. -Analytical skills. -Experience in most forms of contract. -Detailed knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract. -Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration and Contract Management. -Digitally Competent. -A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role. -Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent). -Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent). -Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on. -Ability to seek opportunities for implementing improved working practices. Manages relevant stakeholders for project/s. -Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders. -Sound understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver. -Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s. -Proven experience in areas such as risk management and change control management. -Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. -Developed commercial and financial acumen. -Ability to be effective communicator with all stakeholders. -Understanding different types of contract including the method of measurement. -Negotiation skills. -You will use problem solving and analytical skills for resolving contract and procurement issues within the consultancy pratice. -Strong understanding of industry best practice. -Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications. -Problem solving and analytical skills for resolving cost and contract administration and procurement issues within consult. -You will possess advanced technical expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
