The Role

Overview

Coordinate geotechnical investigations, analysis, and reporting for infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Coordinate field investigations and laboratory testing. -Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and memos. -Complete site reconnaissance for the planning of geotechnical investigations. -Perform geotechnical engineering analyses for the vertical and lateral capacity of deep foundations; slope stability and settlement analyses for roadway and railway embankments; slope stability, settlement and seepage analysis for dams and levees; and subgrade evaluations for roadways and track beds for railroads. -Periodically observe the construction of earthwork for roadways, dams and levees; installation of driven piles and drilled shafts. -Perform geotechnical engineering to support design recommendations for bridge foundations, retaining walls, and earthen embankments for roadways, railroads, dams and levees.

What You Bring

-Experience with local geology (Nebraska/Iowa). -The candidate should be capable of working independently and efficiently under the general supervision of senior-level Geotechnical Engineers. -Experience with MS Office and software applications -MSCE or ongoing coursework toward an MSCE. -Experience with Iowa transportation projects. -EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of 'Coordinator' and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression. -Bachelor's degree in Engineering
