The Role

Overview

Oversee management, maintenance, and allocation of company fleet, plant, and machinery.

Tasks

Maintain accurate records of plant allocation, servicing, and certification. Manage the day-to-day operations of all company vans, plant, and machinery. Monitor equipment performance, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards. Liaise with site management to ensure plant and equipment availability for ongoing works. Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting for plant and machinery operations. Oversee the purchasing and replacement of equipment and parts as required. Coordinate repairs, servicing, and inspections with external suppliers and mechanics. Ensure all vehicles and machinery are fully compliant with insurance, tax, and health & safety requirements.

What You Bring

Ability to work independently and as part of a wider management team. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Strong knowledge of construction vehicles, plant, and equipment. Previous experience in plant or fleet management within the construction industry. Strong IT and administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Full, clean driver’s licence required. A leading construction company based in Galway is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the management of all company vehicles, plant, and machinery. The position will be primarily office-based, focusing on the efficient coordination, maintenance, and utilisation of company equipment across multiple projects.
