Tasks

This critical role will be responsible for providing key technical expertise and input at different stages of multiple projects to ensure the highest technical quality of delivery within specific discipline. The Principal Engineer will also be responsible, in partnership with Project Managers/Project Directors, for business development, quality management and the management of key talent within the Infrastructure Branch/Region. -Providing regular updates on resource availability and constraints, proposing solutions such as reallocation, hiring needs, or outsourcing when required. -Monitoring the technical quality of wet utilities projects, such as water supply, treatment and storage, water resource management, flood management etc, to ensure that the projects delivered to Clients are of the highest technical quality and engineering practice standard. -Effective preparation, planning and control of financial budgets and team resources in order to deliver required commercial outcomes. -Ensuring adherence to resource management tools and processes (Deltek, FM plans, workload trackers, etc.). -Leading resource planning for the Wet Utilities discipline, ensuring optimal allocation of engineers and designers across all active projects. -Leading a team of professional employees, driving increased organizational performance and achievement of team goals. -Developing and implementing measures to mitigate project-related financial and business risks, in partnership with Project Managers/Project Directors. -Building technical capability of others and actively transfer technical expertise within the organization. Preparing proposals and conduct presentations to Clients where required. -Analyzing existing work processes, procedures and systems, identifying opportunities for increased efficiencies cost-effectiveness and service improvements. -Reviewing and validating design submissions, calculations, engineering reports and drawings prepared by team members.

What You Bring

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Masters Degree (preferred) and more than 15 years of experience in wet utilities engineering within infrastructure projects. Professional Membership of PE, CEng or IEng, in conjunction with PMP qualifications will be viewed favourably. Furthermore, demonstrated experience in resource management and team leadership. -Anticipating and objectively and systematically analyze and resolve complex problems
