The team member in this position is required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Thorough understanding of the MSDS’s, company safety policies / practices, and proper use of identified PPE which may involve protective clothing, sleeves, hard hats, foot protection, eye / ear protection, respirator use, etc.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
Preferred: A minimum of 5 years’ inspection experience.
With the exception of clerical, administrative, and some management positions, which require indoor work, the physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid and dusty conditions
Requires long periods of standing; walking, bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, and entering into confined spaces and elevated surfaces
High school education or general education (GED) or 3 to 6 months job-related experience; or equivalent of education and experience.
Maintains current knowledge of government, industry (FRA & AAR), customer, and company policy, procedures, and work instructions
Proficient in the interpretation of drawings and specification, including weld and nondestructive testing symbols
Excellent oral communication skills
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
Operations training at the Safe Performance Center in Birmingham, Alabama
Proficient in computer software applications
