  • The team member in this position is required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Thorough understanding of the MSDS’s, company safety policies / practices, and proper use of identified PPE which may involve protective clothing, sleeves, hard hats, foot protection, eye / ear protection, respirator use, etc.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Preferred: A minimum of 5 years’ inspection experience.
  • With the exception of clerical, administrative, and some management positions, which require indoor work, the physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid and dusty conditions
  • Requires long periods of standing; walking, bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, and entering into confined spaces and elevated surfaces
  • High school education or general education (GED) or 3 to 6 months job-related experience; or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Maintains current knowledge of government, industry (FRA & AAR), customer, and company policy, procedures, and work instructions
  • Proficient in the interpretation of drawings and specification, including weld and nondestructive testing symbols
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Operations training at the Safe Performance Center in Birmingham, Alabama
  • Proficient in computer software applications
