The Role

Overview

Oversee expediting to ensure timely delivery of materials/equipment for a large EPC project.

Tasks

-Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators, or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences, and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly -Represents Expediting in project team meetings -Coordinates with individuals across many departments such as Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Supplier Quality, Project Controls, Logistics and Document Management Control to ensure the purchase order and subcontract is progressing to support job site requirements -Monitors suppliers’ performance and provides advice or direction to ensure compliance with policy, procedure, or guidelines -Forecasts project staffing requirements and coordinates personnel assignments to meet these needs -Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative -Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if suppliers’ programs and work progress meet jobsite requirements -Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required delivery dates -Supervises expediting activities on a large project of complex scope -Reviews material status reports, critical items reports, updates Bechtel’s Digital Supply Chain System (DSCS) and Supplier Performance Database (SPD) data to ensure that adequate accurate information is assembled and presented to the assigned project -Directs the activities of the project expeditors in ensuring delivery of supplier material, equipment, and technical data to support the project schedule -Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data, and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress, and shipment -Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers

What You Bring

-Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience -Strong stakeholder coordination skills, particularly with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Construction, and Project Controls teams. -Knowledge of project scheduling tools and principles (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to align vendor schedules with project milestones. -Analytical mindset to interpret progress data, identify bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions. -Comprehensive understanding of EPC project lifecycle — from engineering design release to fabrication, inspection, logistics, and site delivery. -Deep knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes, including purchasing, inspection, logistics, materials management, and document control.
