Tasks

-Conduct legal research as necessary -Prepare drafts of legal opinions -Conduct review and negotiation of documentation, especially loan documents -Conduct contract review and negotiation -Assist with general legal advice across all company platforms -Remain abreast of changes in law which may impact the company’s operations -Conduct preparation/review of letters for various members of the company as necessary -Prepare and negotiate construction contracts for third-party construction operations -Prepare organizational documentation -Conduct real estate closings, which will include acquisitions, financings, refinancings, dispositions, and so forth -Participate in conference calls, including closing related calls on a regular basis

What You Bring

-Minimum 5 years of legal experience as a legal associate, preferably in real estate development industry -Familiarity with landlord/tenant and leasing issues preferred -Knowledge of title and survey matters -Strong understanding of loan transactions and related documentation -Exceptional attention to contractual details to ensure maximum legal protection -Active law license in NJ, PA, DE, or MD required -Experience in Affordable Housing is a plus -Proven experience leading commercial loan closings as the lead person -Excellent writing and communication skills -Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
