Tasks
A remote-control centre (RCC) manager, leading a team to oversee the operations of a central hub that monitors and controls industrial BESS assets from a remote location. The core function is to ensure the safety, efficiency, and continuous performance of systems from a distance., overseeing daily operations, managing performance, strategic planning, and ensuring compliance. Key duties will involve managing staff, developing and executing strategies, analysing performance data. and handling complex escalation issues like incident management. -Train, and develop a high-performing team of operators and supervisors. -Serve as the key point of contact for escalating incidents and coordinating a rapid, effective response to issues or emergencies. -Ensure that all control room activities adhere to regulatory standards and company policies, including safety standards. -Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement preventative measures. -Coordinate with field operations, engineering, vendors, and customers to resolve complex issues. -Champion a culture of health and safety within the control centre and promote continuous improvement through best practices. -Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching to support team development. -Supervise and lead control room personnel, which may include managing shifts for 24/7 coverage. -Stay informed on advancements in surveillance or control technology and recommend system enhancements. -Perform trend analysis and monitor alarms to identify performance issues and recommend improvements. -Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system performance and response times. -Foster a collaborative and high-integrity team environment, especially when working in a 24/7 setting. -Develop, document, and implement emergency response protocols and control strategy enhancements. -Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed for monitoring, responding to, and resolving incidents. -train, and develop a high-performing team of operators and supervisors -Promotes service excellence and collaborative behaviours for success, in the spirt of teamwork. -Oversee the management of data analytics and ensure the accuracy of real-time information. -ensure compliance with particular regulations, such as NERC CIP. -Utilise specialised software and systems, such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) or Human-Machine Interface (HMI), to monitor alarms and performance.

-A minimum qualification like an HNC or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or process discipline is often required. -Well organised, ability to multitask. -Excellent leadership skills, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to motivate and develop a team. -Demonstrable approach to self-development and eager to develop and progress your career in a fast-growing company. -Curious about new ideas and able to translate them into viable plans. -Full UK driving license -Logical thinker who is adept at problem solving. -Strong situational judgement and risk management skills, -Resilient and responsive to change. -Proven control room or supervisory experience in a relevant industry is essential, particularly in managing teams and overseeing KPIs for multiple assets. -Able to organize and priorities to meet deadlines. -Equipped to hit the ground running and deliver results at pace, while maintaining poise. -Excellent written and verbal communication -A proactive, adaptable, and analytical approach to solving complex issues under pressure -Strong knowledge of relevant systems and technologies, such as SCADA, HMI, or specialised incident management software. -Team Player with the ability to impart knowledge and share experience. -Excellent problem solving. -Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages
