Electrical Technician

Overview

Install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment, including HVAC.

Tasks

-Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC systems -Monitor and analyze environmental conditions, review the loading/working conditions of critical equipment regularly -Undertake Upgrade & Install work -Responding to work interruptions, outages or emergencies consistent with the SLA -Escalate urgent issues identified through to the Technical Services Manager -React to breakdown maintenance requests within the required SLA’s -Ensure completion of all reactive Helpdesk Requests -Carry out thermographic surveys to identify potential electrical issues. -Responsibility for ensuring all critical related engineering maintenance documentation & records are kept updated -Advise the Facilities Management Team of changes in critical environment requirements -Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment. -Review and submit to the Technical Services Manager ensuring all actions are documented, reviewed and completed -Provide emergency response standby, call out -Conduct testing and inspection of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards. -Undertake site surveys & produce Works Requests, Method Statements & Risk Assessments for planned works -Testing and Inspection of Electrical systems -Determine the root cause and action items required to restore availability and prevent a recurrence

What You Bring

-Excellent facilitation, communication skills at all levels -Understand the monitoring of utilities and environmental programmes -Water hygiene L8 -Must be willing to work over & above contractual hours. -Be or have been an Authorised Person e.g. (AP15/12) -Experience working with building management systems including fault finding and operator use -Health & Safety Qualified i.e. IOSH and/or NEBOSH -18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations -Evidence of Excellent Customer Service Delivery -Experience and understanding of HVAC systems -Understand and interpret technical drawings / instructions / processes & O&M’s -Experience with testing and inspection of electrical systems -Experience of H & S procedures & requirements. COSHH, Working at Heights, Risk Assessment etc. -Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols -Able to organize self to manage assigned tasks, determine material requirements.
