Overview

Field engineer managing planning, material, safety, QC and subcontract coordination.

Tasks

-Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development. -Reviews and approves inspection test plans, -Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. -Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. -Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures. -Initiates requisitions for field purchases -Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. -Prepares construction drawings and sketches. -Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.

What You Bring

-Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors. -Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. -Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration. -Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience -Familiar with Bechtel’s Business Ethics handbook and policies. -Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Accidents” safety program. -Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to a single discipline interfacing with all areas, or in a multi-discipline position assigned to a single area. -Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility. -Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities -Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
