The Role

Overview

Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems ensuring code compliance.

Tasks

-Manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality. -Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity. -Comply with standards and procedures of industry and Sciens safety programs/policies. -Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other inspectors. -Produce detailed inspection and deficiency reports in accordance with NFPA. -Responsible for delivering and testing on schedule and within cost budgets. -Oversee project inventory and responsibility for vehicle inventory. -Responsible for inspecting and maintaining fire alarm systems. -Responsible for logging and transmitting inspection reports via technical devices. -Responsible for reviewing system layouts and coordinating with the systems and service departments for successful testing and inspection.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of current fire alarm and clean agent/special hazard fire suppression systems. -1-3 years of experience in an inspector technician role within the fire detection and protection industry. Ability to work independently with some supervision. -Able to read technical drawings/diagrams and follow specifications. -Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 certifications. -Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation -Ability to work under tight deadlines. -Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 72 and IFC code or state-adopted fire code requirements. -High school diploma or equivalent. -Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency. -Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday. -Fire alarm experience preferred.
