The Role

Overview

Oversee all shipping, logistics, inventory and staff at Georgia-Pacific corrugated plant.

Tasks

-Perform cycle counts -Identify hazards, good housekeeping practices -Manage the entire truck fleet and partner with outside vendors. -Collaborate in daily/weekly planning and strategy meetings. -Maintain ongoing communication with sales and customer service teams. -Schedule and oversee inbound shipments, including receipt and inspection. -Conduct monthly physical inventory counts and oversee raw material ordering. -Use FIFO methodology to manage inventory flow and warehouse organization. -Develop and execute daily shipping plans based on sales orders and customer demand. -Promote a safety-first culture by adhering to plant and corporate policies. -Evaluate deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory processes. -Measure and report on warehousing activities and employee performance. -Identify hazards, perform trailer inspections, and ensure daily housekeeping. -Manage shipping/warehouse functions and coordinate with offsite warehouse inventory. -Provide daily operational guidance to ensure productivity and quality. -Acquire and maintain knowledge of inventory control, shipping/receiving records, and order processes. -Identify and implement improvements to workflows and standard operating procedures. -Coordinate shipments to support production operations. -Foster culture grounded in Principled Based Management® (PBM). -Lead, motivate, and develop shipping leads and hourly employees. -Manage outbound shipments (small packages and dedicated loads) with proper documentation.

What You Bring

-Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship -Experience working in the corrugated packaging/containerboard industry on a corrugator OR in a converting operation -Own P&L responsibilities for freight, warehouse, and supply chain operations -Experience with computerized inventory systems -Certified as an OSHA Forklift Instructor -Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar -Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant programs for maintaining records, data, documentation, and reporting -Experience with TOPS, PCS, FFF, & KIWI -Experience supervising in shipping/warehouse management role and/or a manufacturing/industrial environment -Experience managing logistic processes and customer relationships
