Site Civil Engineer

Design and manage civil site engineering for building projects in NC.

Tasks

-Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed -Perform site due diligence, including zoning and permitting requirements for local and state agencies. -Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed. -Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures -Perform quantity calculations and complete associated calculation reports. -Manage project and permitting coordination with local and state agencies. -Design and plan production for general site civil on a wide variety of projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading, storm drainage analysis and design (conveyance systems, water quality and quantity BMPs), paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities. -Prepare specifications and contract documents -Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position. -Coordinate site design with clients, local and state agencies, and project team (project managers, engineers, designers, etc).

What You Bring

-Local candidates are preferred -Proficient with Microsoft Office -Previous experience in general civil engineering -Proficient and demonstrated applied experience with CAD civil engineering software such as Autodesk Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., HydroCAD, Autodesk Hydraflow Extensions, etc.) as required -Demonstrated leadership and communication skills -Good verbal and written communication skills -Bachelor's degree -Familiar with OpenRoads software -5 years of experience in general site civil engineering -Professional Engineer (PE) license.
