The Role

Overview

Helicopter passenger inspects overhead lines & rights‑of‑way, records conditions, does ground checks.

Tasks

-To record, while in flight, information regarding observations of such things as line conditions and rights-of-way in order that permanent records may be made. -To practice the best public relations in connection with helicopter operations. -Assist in overseeing/reviewing various contractors used on the distribution and transmission systems. -To inspect, as a passenger in a helicopter, lines and related equipment for the purpose of determining and reporting existing conditions. -Performs summer and winter load infrared inspections. -Maintains a system of records sufficient to document deficiencies/hazards observed on the transmission system and relays this information to the appropriate division/district thereby ensuring corrective action is performed. -Performs detailed ground inspections to determine adequacy of pole plant and/or conditions on the right-of-way. -To perform regular helicopter patrols and make emergency patrols as required.

What You Bring

-Must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent, preferably with additional training. -Must have Line Worker 1/C experience. -To have a thorough knowledge of the safety instructions affecting the work and to perform the work accordingly. -Customer Centric (internal and/or External) -Must be proficient in the processing and handling of inspection records, contractor invoices, customer requests, etc. -Must have valid motor vehicle operator’s license and a safe driving record. -Must be able to carry out essential functions of classification.
