Tasks

-Ensure proper ventilation for welding (e.g., hexavalent chromium). -Apply craft-related math skills. -Wear a respirator as needed (blood pressure no higher than 150/90). -Perform cleanup duties. -Properly purge and monitor stainless steel piping.

What You Bring

-Demonstrate proper use and care of a welding machine. -Ability to express thoughts orally. -Ability to support other crafts as requested. -Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements. -Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools. -Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc. -Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures. -Ability to read and write complex documents in English. -Ability to pass specific training and qualifications. -Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. -3+ years of experience. -Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. -Weld must be able to pass a bend or x-ray test. -Demonstrate proper use and care of power tools. -Visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, manual dexterity, grasping, feeling, hearing, talking. -Strategic thinking and planning for growth. -Capacity to reason and make sound decisions. -Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus for long periods. -Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures. -Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired. -Perform acceptable work at varying heights (such as ladders, scaffolds, etc.). -Perform acceptable welds in all positions according to job requirements and governing codes. -Ability to walk job sites and climb. -Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed. -High School diploma or equivalent. -Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening. -Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels). -Pass the welder qualification test according to job specifications and appropriate codes. -Availability for shift work, if needed. -Demonstrate proper use and care of hand tools and measuring devices.
