  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of travel forecasts
  • Perform intersection operations analysis
  • Develop and assess alternative road improvements
  • Develop recommendations for transit service and transit access
  • Review and develop policy for transportation
  • Develop client relationships and new business opportunities
  • Prepare needs assessment for road facilities and transit services
  • Resolve requirements and broader transportation impact for developments and projected land uses
  • Undertake research and analysis of land use, demographic, and travel data
  • Develop and execute evaluation frameworks and business case analysis for implementation of transportation infrastructure.
  • Prepare proposals and strategic capture plans
  • Coordinate work from different disciplines (municipal, structural, technical support staff, etc.)
  • Prepare technical memos and reports
  • Incorporate transit, pedestrian, transportation demand management strategies, and active transportation into studies
  • Contribute to the development of junior staff
  • Provide traffic engineering/transportation planning services for Environmental Assessments, Preliminary and Detail roadway projects
  • Perform microsimulation analysis
  • Develop preliminary road and active transportation concept designs and conduct concept design evaluation

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or urban planning with at least 7 years of experience in transportation
  • Experience with safety audits and collision analysis
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with AutoCAD or GIS is an asset
  • Experience with Synchro, Sidra, Vissim, and/or other traffic software
  • Experience with Adobe / Creative Suite is an asset
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, Registered Professional Planner or Engineer-in-training/Planning Candidate in Ontario
  • Excellent report and proposal writing skills
  • Positive attitude, good communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in urban design
  • Performs well independently as well as in a team environment
  • Solid understanding of relevant transportation planning and traffic engineering policies and design standards in Ontario
