Tasks

The HSE department is responsible for assisting in the administration and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental management plans in accordance with Vestas' policies and procedures, maintaining the factory in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations, conducting reporting/inspection procedures, incident investigation, and other day to day operations. -Performs training in the Recycling and Hazardous Waste Contingency plans to affected workers. May arrange for disposal of liquid and solid wastes; maintains State-required records -Support maintenance of programs and record keeping systems that track and evaluate Legal, ISO, OHSAS and Vestas Corporate compliance to established standards -Assist with Safety Committee meetings planning and initiatives -Assist with investigative causes of injuries, accidents, incidents and near misses to identify preventive safety measures for incorporation into the safety program -Assist with incident investigations, reporting and follow-up meetings -Ensure routine Inspections fire suppression equipment, emergency lighting, emergency shower and eyewash units, first-aid supplies, and any other applicable Life Safety devices -May assist and monitor the administration of worker's compensation program and tracking for OSHA recordkeeping purposes -Facilitate and perform all duties pertaining to factory compliance for state and federal regulations for handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials & waste -Assist with HSE review of change management -Assist in delivering HSE related trainings -Assist with compilation of agency reports required by regulatory agencies -May maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) files locally and via the SDS Database -Inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented -Inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented· Use observer data and accident data to focus improvement efforts using Action Planning and Problem-Solving techniques -Back up Emergency Coordinator for facility to include Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response, weather emergencies, fires, shelter in place -Climb up and down stairs -Review and assist with documentation changes of HSE procedures in alignment with the HSE Management System -Assist with creation of HSE communications and promotions for teams, supervisors and managers

What You Bring

-Ability to locate and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals -1-3 years related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; OSHA 30-hour General Industry certification is strongly preferred -Strong Natural Ability to Work in Teams with ability to schedule and self-manage tasking timetables -Must be able to see and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions -Must be able to see and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions· Must be able to tolerate an environment where chemicals and materials are used within OSHA guidelines -Must be able to tolerate an environment where chemicals and materials are used within OSHA guidelines -A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) -Open to learning HSE, ISO 14001, 45001 program management, Industrial Hygiene principles and equipment - noise dosimeter/mapping of production areas, particulate filters and pumps, and operation of multi-gas detectors -System skills - Microsoft Office Suites functionality and ability to interface with various database programs -Be willing and able to be trained and perform First Aid/CPR -Excellent Work Ethic, Dependability & Dedication to Team/Company -High Degree of Adaptability & Flexibility -Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions -Ability to write simple to complex correspondence -Must possess a valid a driver's license -Driver's license and ability to travel as needed to support local factory needs (<10% travel) -EMT-B required -Understanding of behavior-based programs is a plus -Comfortable speaking in front of groups teaching/leading -Able to use and understand HSE databases and SharePoint sites, including the Vestas 3E SDS Database, Incident Management System (IMS), Safety Walk Database -Regular & reliable attendance
