Tasks

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. -Implement, configure, and maintain technical security controls across complex ICT environments to meet compliance and accreditation requirements. -Conduct system and security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses to identify and mitigate potential threats. -Contribute to change management processes, including developing and reviewing change proposals, risk assessments, and implementation plans to maintain system integrity and availability. -Perform ICT system administration duties, including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting of servers, workstations, and virtual environments. -Manage and support networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, ensuring secure connectivity and performance across Defence networks.

What You Bring

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement. More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients. We currently have an opportunity for a Cyber Assurance Engineering Specialist in Canberra to work on Joint projects. -Operating System Proficiency: Skilled in administering Windows Server, Linux, and macOS environments. -Virtualisation & Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. -Network & Security Tools Knowledge: Deep understanding of networking protocols and tools including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection. -ICT Systems & Network Administration: Proven experience managing systems, implementing security controls, and handling change management processes. -Cybersecurity Framework Expertise: Strong knowledge of ISM, Essential 8, and NIST SP 800-55 standards for secure system governance.
