VD Brake Press Operator

Overview

Operate press brake and related metal fabrication equipment for elevator parts.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Performs inspections on product before, during, and after the build following VDI’s standards. -Cut and label all sheet metal for jobs on the floor. -Use measuring equipment such as tape measure, micrometer, calipers, square, protractor, etc… -Follow and enforce all VDI safety rules and regulations -Effectively communicate with supervisors & other production staff to coordinate work schedules -Perform basic and preventative maintenance and repair as required. -Create quality and accurate cuts/bends/folds according to blueprints. -Ensure equipment is properly set-up & used in a safe manner & that all safety devices are in use. -Monitor functionality of equipment and tools and request maintenance when required.

What You Bring

-Minimum 3-5 years experience operating autofold, laser, press brake/turret or other metal fabrication tools -High school diploma or equivalent -Read and understand work orders and job schedules -Performs basic math and verifies job requirements, specifications, and maintains quality standards. -Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs -Must be able to effectively read, write and speak the English language -Outstanding attention to detail and ability to multi-task -Safe operation of autofold, press brake, shear and various other tools used to complete project. -Ability to use tape measures and other measuring tools -Good knowledge of fabrication machinery, electrical equipment, and hand tools -Operate fork lift, if required and certified. -Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test -Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently, & lift 70 pounds occasionally -Ability to frequently bend, twist, grip, squat and lift
