Tasks

-Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team -Formulates and maintains quality assurance system improvement objectives which complement corporate policies and goals and incorporates these goals and objectives into the expectations for the Quality functions at each manufacturing location -Development of Control Plans for new product -Establish basic quality disciplines (problem solving, data collection, prioritization and metrics). Develops initial and subsequent modifications to the quality improvement program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within program -Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team -Manages the Quality Assurance Engineers and their effectiveness -Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market conditions -Conducts management meetings with Quality Assurance Managers to establish, delineate, and review program policies, coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives -Collaborates with engineering managers to ensure new products meet quality standards in accordance with the NPI (New Product Introduction) and development process and to identify and correct design problems on existing products -Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and corrective actions -Establish a process for the application of Quality Assurance Engineering expertise and methodologies for the New Product Introduction (NPI) DP Process of Quality Components including: -Reviews data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. Reviews technical problems and procedures and recommends solutions or revisions -Supports the development and initiation of standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation -Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards. Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry -Responsible for the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the process -Provide official hand-off to QC Team for execution -Generation of Manufacturing Check Samples (MCS) -Oversees the quality assurance engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor and company quality records

What You Bring

-10+ years of related experience including 6+ years people leadership experience -8 to 10 years of related experience including 4+ years people leadership experience -Track record of successful project management and team leadership experience -Strong knowledge of quality and design engineering, DFMEA & PFMAE application, manufacturing, specifications, testing and inspections -Ability to travel to Daikin’s key sites throughout the U.S & Mexico. Some overseas travel may be required. -The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth -Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), & Lean -Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position -Quality Engineer Certificate from American Society for Quality
