Tasks

The On-Site AV Engineer will be responsible for preventative maintenance, commissioning rooms, submitting tickets when necessary, and mounting equipment. -Connect video conference calls as needed. -Executing routine tasks with limited decision-making or system-level troubleshooting. -Examples include rebooting cable boxes, video conferencing equipment, and PCs. -Ensure all equipment is shut down and in cases where portables are involved secured for the next business day. -Ensure all equipment is shut down and, in cases where portables are involved, secured for the next business day. -Schedule Management and Operations Documentation -Maintain and operate various broadcasting equipment such as encoders, transcoders, video and editing equipment (video mixer, digital/analog audio desks, etc.) -Submitting tickets to request work from other groups (e.g., Mac whitelisting, network port activation, equipment removal, Teams Room account activation). -Day to day on-site AV & Video Calls production & operations -Review schedules for next-day requests to ensure equipment is operational. -Perform routine maintenance and cable management, ensuring A/V equipment is clean, organized & working condition. -Ensure video or PC is properly displayed. -Ensure all visual components for programs are properly prepped and viewed in advance. -Report system problems immediately including solutions and/or recommendations. -Testing of each piece of equipment to ensure equipment is set to factory specifications to obtain optimum performance report system problems immediately including solutions and/or recommendations. -Replace A/V consumables, as necessary. -Performing work more aligned with installer-level tasks rather than specialist or commissioning responsibilities. -Operate live sound equipment and live web streaming, broadcasting, recording, and postproduction editing for all major programs (located in the auditoriums at Heritage’s headquarters in DC & virtually). -AV setup for executive-level meetings (sharing content to displays, initiating video and audio calls, Camera operations) -Identify larger issues, initiating and managing the process of repair tickets with any AV Service Provider currentlyunder contract. -Adjust and clean fixed and AV equipment per manufacturers' recommendations. -Decommissioning room racks and installing new displays and Cisco equipment. -Perform the installation, adjustment, and operation of high-tech level audiovisual equipment such as cameras, lights, video conference systems, audio, press needs, and microphones for events. -Ensure a high-quality production including ensuring all AV cues are reflected in line-by-line and effective implementation of all components of a program including but not limited to videos, slides, presentations, still slides, fade in/out, voice of god, music, live stream feed, etc. -Adjust and clean equipment to ensure it is set to manufacturers' recommendations to obtain optimum performance. -Maintain inventory of A/V consumables for fixed and portable equipment. -Create formal documentation and workflow to increase service level, train/inform, manage additional AV support staff, and implement standards. -Mounting and physically installing equipment. -Supporting other team members instead of leading technical initiatives. -Ensure media is properly viewed. -Review deliverables and regularly meet with the internal partners to ensure compliance with their requirements and expectations.

What You Bring

-Consistent coordination and follow-up with larger Events & Programming and Communications Department regarding the details and needs for all scheduled meetings and program requests -Preventative maintenance room checks each day (start and finish). Basic equipment tests. -AV/Technical knowledge of current conference room technology (Cisco Video Calls, etc.) -Ability to perform basic AV maintenance (replacing bad HDMI cables, dongles, etc.) -Experience in Wi-Fi connections, PC troubleshooting, and Event Management Systems with the ability to operate and troubleshoot projectors, video switching equipment, audio equipment & video conferencing systems. -Position requires regular and consistent coordination and follow-up with Office Services and Communications Department and/or individual clients concerning all scheduled meeting requests
