  • Inspect all construction activities to ensure quality of workmanship.
  • Review traffic protection procedures.
  • Prepare daily reports of all construction and engineering field work using the NJDOT Site Manager or NJTA CapEx Manager system.
  • Maintain daily records of the numbers and classification of workers employed by the Contractors using the NJDOT Site Manager or NJTA CapEx Manager system.
  • Maintain records covering running totals of quantities and costs while construction is in progress.
  • Prepare and forward to the NJDOT / NJTA weekly quantity summaries for each item of the contract, with an appropriate format.
  • Perform tests required to ensure material compliance with the Plans and Specifications.
  • Notify the Resident Engineer immediately of any defects in the work.
  • Inspect all construction materials to be used at the site to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Maintain daily records of the type and size of equipment used on all construction operations using the NJDOT Site Manager or NJTA CapEx Manager system

  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • ACI Grade 1
  • Reliable personal vehicle for travel to-from and on job site
  • Familiarity with New Jersey Department of Transportation or New Jersey Turnpike Authority standards
  • Excellent computer skills are REQUIRED. Must be efficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook.
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy highway asphalt paving or concrete construction for the NJDOT or NJTA
  • Agency Required Certifications:NICET II and aboveRutgers Traffic Control CoordinatorNJ SAT HMA Construction TechnologistACI Grade 1
  • Familiarity with NJTA CapEx Manager, daily reports/forms, and policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with NJDOT Site Manager, daily reports/forms, and policies and procedures
