Rebar Team Lead

Lead steel fabrication team, manage rebar production and ensure design compliance.

Tasks

-Assign work activities amongst department personnel based upon demand -Operate tie gun -Deliver completed cage designs with accessories attached to the production floor -Ensure all fabrication equipment is operating as designed including all associated safety features -Conduct weekly cycle counts -Examine and inspect work progress and equipment to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met -Maintain on high alert for all safety aspects -Continuously look for ways to improve department efficiency, eliminate waste and reduce costs -Maintain accurate record keeping of inventory -Train and develop steel shop personnel on all activities & equipment associated with steel fabrication -Work with Engineering to interpret drawing details, resolve any concerns/questions and communicate details to shop personnel -Operate rebar bender and shear cutter -Work with the Production Manager to ensure all steel designs are fabricated in accordance with product drawings at a minimum of one day prior to scheduled production

What You Bring

-Must have at least 2 years of related work experience in steel reinforcement activities -Working knowledge of a tape measure/hand ruler -Experience with operating a rebar bender -Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. -Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, fractions) -Previous steel fabrication experience regarding cutting, bending and tying rebar preferred -Experience with operation of a crane -Ability to read/write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos -Read drawings and blueprints -Strong interpersonal, communication and organizations skills -Ability to read and interpret steel design drawings -High school diploma / equivalent -Experience with operating a rebar shear/cutter -Leadership skills in terms of prioritizing tasks, training/developing personnel and scheduling/assigning activities
