The Role

Entry-level safety officer ensuring compliance, training, and incident management.

Tasks

-Provide first-aid care to minor injuries -Ensures company compliance with applicable state and federal MSHA, OSHA, FDOT, and internal policy requirements and standards -Case management by way of communicating with management, staff, and medical providers and maintaining required records. -Professionally represent the company with 3rd party regulatory agencies -Supports and drives the investigation of near misses, incidents, and coordinates the preparation of material and evidence to identify root causes for the purpose of developing corrective and preventative actions -Conducts observations, inspections and audits. Prepares reports and communicates unsafe findings to appropriate authorities to address root causes and determining corrective action -Communicates with all departments on planning, solution, and training for best practice to properly eliminate or control hazards by use of engineered systems or personal protective equipment

What You Bring

-Comfortably communicate and conduct training to employees in group field or classroom settings -Must be flexible to work variable shifts, and some Saturdays -Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during irregular operation -Excellent communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time -CPR/First Aid & BBP -Some knowledge of industry safety standards and the ability to research and learn as needed -Possess/maintain a valid State driver's license. -Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders outdoors for an extended period of time -Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English) -Basic computer skills with some competency in Microsoft word/excel
