Senior Structural Engineer

Overview

Perform structural surveys, diagnose defects, produce reports, and oversee remediation.

Tasks

-Assisting with preparing fee proposals and scope of services for new projects -Mentoring and supporting other less experienced team members -Analyse and report on structural defects and remediation if required -Oversee the production of design drawings and preparing specifications for tender purposes -Prepare schedule of remedial works -Visiting sites during the construction phase to monitor progress and provide advice to contractors -Assisting with managing the fees on projects against the scope of services and issuing invoices -Carrying out structural surveys of buildings and structures and providing advice on any issues that may arise -Prepare reports on observations, findings and recommendations -Site visits to assess suitability for alterations and produce design drawings -Liaising positively with clients and maintaining strong client relationships and repeat work

What You Bring

-Excellent communication skills, in both written and spoken English -Ability to evidence broad and proven structural design experience in core materials: concrete, steel, masonry and timber -MIStructE / MICE Chartered membership is preferred, but is not essential for the right candidate with strong evidence and a proven track record. -Understanding and following internal QA procedures and processes -Ability to evidence a breadth of UK based structural design and investigation experience
