Lead design and management of utility transmission projects (34.5kV‑500kV)

Tasks

-Assist in the development of technical staff through mentoring, instructing of technical engineering principles, and governing electrical and safety codes. -Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives. -Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV. -Instruct and teach the technical staff in the use of computer systems and software, tools and equipment, and company-owned motor vehicles. -in developing project schedules and defining technical staff for projects and daily work. -Maintain great relationships with our existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients. -Collaborate with the department managers to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures which reflect best engineering practices. -Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions. -Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing. -Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.

What You Bring

-5+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design -Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry-relevant standards -Experience with PLS-CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD -Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project) -Must be able to effectively supervise a project team of Engineers & Engineering Technicians while maintaining work product quality, consistency, accuracy, and reliability. -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Professional disposition and the ability to be open-minded when it comes to planning and execution of projects being worked on by staff. -Advanced knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and understanding of its integration into daily activities.
