The Role

Overview

MIG welder fabricates and welds steel components per blueprints in a manufacturing plant.

Tasks

-Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production. -Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion. -Under direct supervision, spot welds together metal components. -Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency. -Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

What You Bring

-Required: 1-year previous MIG welding experience. -Preferred: Trade school or certification in welding. -Must be quality oriented with strong attention to detail. -Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, diagrams, or assembly instructions. -MIG weld 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products. -Familiar with safe welding practices. -Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. -Capable of blueprint reading and interpretation skills. -Must be physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table. -Able to work with a positive attitude and in a team setting. -Individual must have a working knowledge of MIG welding machines with respect to preventive maintenance and control settings to obtain maximum efficiencies. -Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds. -Capable of welding 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel. (Can be taught) -Capable of learning to read fabrication drawings with some instruction. -Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
