The Company

About Sgn

-Born in 2005 from Scotia Gas Networks, operates one of the UK’s largest gas grids across Scotland and southern England. -Privately owned by Brookfield Infrastructure Partners, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Global Infrastructure Partners. -Invests annually in upgrading pipes to enhance reliability and reduce leaks. -Pioneering trials in hydrogen and biomethane—like H100 Fife and the LTS Futures project—for a zero-carbon future. -Deploys AI-driven ‘intelligent grid’ technology to optimize pressure, detect faults, and enable green-gas injection. -Projects include replacing aged iron pipes, hydrogen home trials, and high-pressure repurposing schemes. -Faced challenges like a high-profile gas explosion and delayed leak responses but improved operations since. -Leads efforts to transform the UK gas network into a smarter, cleaner energy system alongside daily operations.
