The Role

Overview

Repair, upgrade, and recondition circuit breakers and substation equipment.

Tasks

-Supports onsite and emergency jobs when needed. -Electrically operates a circuit breaker from wiring schematic (charge, close and trip) -Removes and reinstalls electrical components on circuit breakers with documentation. -Takes electrical parts off a breaker to recondition them (aux switch, motor, relay, coils) -Disassembles circuit breakers. -Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner. -Makes sure electric parts work properly before putting them on a breaker. -Troubleshoots and repairs circuit breakers. -Cleans electrical parts. -Tests and troubleshoots electrical wiring. -Operates test equipment relevant to breaker type. -Reads breaker evaluation and work order and performs the service the customer is requesting. -Reads manuals and follows detailed instructions on adjusting equipment. -Reads schematic, point-to-point and one-line wiring diagrams.

What You Bring

-Ability to use measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.) -Works safely on stored energy mechanisms. -Ability to travel to some job sites if needed after being trained. -Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. -Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion -Mechanically inclined, must have your own tools. -Ability to troubleshot electrical and mechanical problems and repair. -Lifting requirements include occasional lifting up to 75 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 25 pounds. -Capable of lifting 50-pounts. -Frequent walking -Strong electrical skills. -Strong mechanical skills. -Able to work at fast pace -Clear written and verbal communications. -Ability to maintain good housekeeping of designated work area. -Ability to trouble shoot electrical circuits safely and make repairs. -Occasional reaching/working overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling -Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. -Ability and willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature. -Good time management skills; be able to multi-task -Detail oriented, great attitude, team player, well organized. -Work well in a team environment. -Able to maintain confidential information.
