Tasks

Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs Senior Designer, PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget Works with team to develop design ideas and create both presentation and construction drawings Obtains cost estimates and produces final cost estimates Oversees Intermediate Designer to review space plans and tackles more complicated issues With Senior Designer, researches and selects fixtures and finishes to use for projects Provide review of engineering and landscape drawings to ensure they comply with design solution. Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages for both interior and exterior Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product May develop and finalize conceptual design for smaller projects Provides detail for interior and architectural design projects Conducts client interviews to determine space needs and requirements; good working knowledge of Affinity program tool Works with team to develop architectural concepts for interior and exterior repositioning and/ or adaptive projects Ensures integration into overall design May mentor the work of Junior and Intermediate Designers Assists in developing packages for larger projects May be required to assist with support for field surveys For smaller projects may oversee all design and drawing Drafts technical drawings Manages design budget for assigned projects

The Designer, working under general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, presentations, concept design through design development, and contract documents. Advanced sketching and rendering skills Working knowledge of path of travel requirements 5+ years’ experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning and adaptive re-use projects as well as corporate interiors Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills Working knowledge of contract administration Graduate of architecture or design school: equivalent experience may be substituted Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements Intermediate MS Office Suite skills Extensive with the concepts of furniture layout Extensive knowledge of design principles, workplace trends and aesthetics Advanced architecture detailing skills Extensive knowledge of CDs and procedures Extensive knowledge of repositioning and adaptive re-use projects
