Tasks

The Superintendent is the company representative who has the primary responsibility for all field operations, including the coordination of subcontractors’ work. Superintendent is responsible for all field activities associated with the project, including ultimate responsibility for implementation and supervision of all field construction work by subcontractors and self-performed work. The individual in this role shares responsibility with the Project Manager for developing the project budget, actively participating in the preconstruction phase, and ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures. The Superintendent also manages and mentors Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel. -Conduct job site safety meetings and document topics discussed. -Take job site photos and complete daily reports. -Exhibits commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making necessary changes, using customer input to make improvements, and meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations. -Communicate with owners, subcontractors, and the team in a positive way. -Coordinate with inspectors and acquire all necessary permits. -Identify solutions to problems and report any unresolved issues to the Project Manager. -Maintain positive relationships to retain clients and quality subcontractors. -Schedule and manage subcontractors in the appropriate sequence for timely and accurate completion. -Maintain job site record of contract drawings. -Review and complete final punch lists in a timely manner. -Pay attention to detail and ensure quality of work and adherence to plans and specifications. -Read drawings, specifications and subcontract documents in order to plan, prioritize and schedule construction activities.

What You Bring

30 hours of OSHA training once every four years required, as well as first aid and CPR training. Availability and ability to travel in the Southeast United States. We are an Alabama Drug Free Workplace, this is a safety sensitive position. All prospective employees are subject to successful completion of pre-employment drug screen. -5+ years of experience. Depending upon the project size, scope, and complexity the years of experience may vary. -Preferred but not required: B.S. in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or other related field. Direct field experience in trades substitutes for college degree. -Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook). -Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Ability to manage multiple activities/projects, meet multiple deadlines and network with staff, management and clients.
