The Role

Support the legal transactions team with lease review, case admin and court tasks.

Tasks

-Primarily to review leases for the purpose of ascertaining liability for repairs and maintenance -provide a fully inclusive and accessible recruitment process -Obtain leases, tenancies and other documents -Chase courts and tribunals for documents / timeframes and diarise directions -Arrange payments to suppliers -Attending courts and tribunals assisting -offer an interview to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the job -Update Legal Operations intranet page -Deliver the departmental vision by adopting personal behaviours that challenge the present and explore the future and work with peers within Residential Services to explore new ideas -Draft simple correspondence to courts / tribunals / others -Be performance focused and deliver an excellent service to our clients and stakeholders. -actively look to attract and recruit disabled people -Manage own case load (with supervision) -Process gas injunctions and other injunctions including advocacy -Arrange meetings -Assist the team in meeting and exceeding its objectives as outlined in its Service Level Agreement -Ensure that expenditure is forecasted and captured correctly, this includes recording time taken to carry out work and recording disbursements against cases -make reasonable adjustments as required -Preparing cases for trials both at the Courts and Tribunals, which includes preparing bundles, filing and closing files

What You Bring

-Experience of managing own caseload -Strong IT and communication skills -Demonstrable organisational skills and the ability to prioritise -Residential property law experience – Desirable -Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A*- C) -Completed law degree / CPE / GDL or equivalent or CILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice or Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Legal Services
