The Role
Overview
Analyze environmental samples using ICP/ICP-MS instruments on 2nd shift.

Tasks
-Evaluate current analytical system performance and suggest/implement improvements to maximize quality and productivity -Document data following SOPs -Set up, optimize, and calibrate ICP/ICP-MS/CVAA independently -Keep individual training records updated -Perform quantitative transfer and dilutions -Perform non-routine analyses with limited supervision -Review, evaluate, calculate, enter, upload and verify data as required -Perform IDL, IEC, linear range, and MDL determinations -Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner -Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate -Perform instrument troubleshooting -Assist with updating SOPs as needed to ensure compliance -Maintain ICP/ICP-MS/CVAA instrumentation -Analyze samples independently

What You Bring
-ICP-OES or ICP-MS experience preferred -Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field -Perform effective written and oral communication with coworkers -Some familiarity with basic statistics and chemical math; problem solving ability, ability to retain large amounts of information -Associate degree in Chemistry or Biology, or related field -Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship -Some related experience with inductively coupled plasma techniques (ICP and ICP MS)/atomic absorption techniques -Demonstrate skill in using the computer to access information, perform complex mathematical calculations and prepare reports -Regular attendance and punctuality -Read and understand the principles of instruments used for assigned work
