The Role

Operate heavy construction equipment for project tasks in Dallas.

Tasks

-Ensure security of equipment and work area while conducting operations. -Identify, communicate, and escalate problems and issues to supervisor for immediate resolution. -Maintain fuel storage area and order fuel, as needed. -Manage and track utilization of rented equipment onsite. Document condition of equipment upon arrival and pickup. Report any damage to Superintendent. -Operate power construction equipment to facilitate scope of work required on project. Power equipment includes but not limited to earth moving, excavation, material handling, aerial, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, back hoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, street sweepers, forklifts, shooting boom forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. -Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, initiate and facilitate repairs as needed. -Assist with installing and maintenance of traffic control devices. -Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees. -Track production of completed tasks. -Participate in daily Pre-Task Plans, follow safety expectations for operation of equipment and tools, select appropriate equipment for performing work, adhere to safety protocols to perform work, and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). -Manage controlled access areas for operating equipment, loading, and unloading. -Manage subcontractor utilization of Turner equipment and report damage to Superintendent. -Clean and maintain physical appearance of equipment. -Collaborate with Project and/or Trade Foreman for scheduling and expediting delivery of materials and equipment.

-Fully comprehend scopes of work per plans and specifications to complete job assignment. -Able to think critically and use good judgment to solve problems -Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills and engage with all levels of teams, clients, business partners, and management -Ability to take direction, work independently with minimal supervision, and in team environment -Fully understand work instructions, project signage, and safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers and prepare and inspect tools prior use to ensure safe and working condition. -Ability to travel using various modes (e.g., automobile, train, air) and accommodate night and weekend work as needed -Active equipment operating certifications as required -Reliable transportation required -Ability to apply active listening skills, ask clarifying questions, and complete assignments as directed -Minimum of 3 years of equipment operating experience required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience -Valid state and/or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to operate equipment, as applicable -Display high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations.
